The Advanced Training Scheme ATS

Applications are welcome for the Advanced Training Scheme. Selection Day is early January 2014 in London. The Scheme is suitable for calligraphers who have some experience and skill but who want to develop a personal direction for their work. The Scheme offers discussion, sharing, and guidance from top calligraphers over three years, and everyone who comes into it finishes it a better and more confident calligrapher. Antiquarian Book Fair

For the first time, the SSI is taking a stand at the Antiquarian Book Fair at Olympia.

Opening times

  • Thursday 13 June from 3pm-8.30pm
  • Friday 14 June from 11am-7pm
  • Saturday 15 June from 11am-5.30pm.

SSI members can apply for complimentary tickets in advance (one ticket covers two visitors) by visiting the "Register for tickets" page ABF website.

The SSI will have a stand with calligraphy demonstrations, gilding demonstrations, 'Try it' for the public on Friday and Saturday, rubber stamp making for illustration on Friday and Saturday, 'Making of a Manuscript book' on Friday and Saturday.
