The exhibition held to celebrate the 75th anniversary year of the Society was fully reproduced in an accompanying catalogue. 28 historical and 57 modern works were on show, demonstrating the vitality of the craft and its evolution throughout the twentieth century. All 85 works are shown in full colour in the catalogue. A number of historically important pieces were to be seen, including Alfred Fairbank's 'Odes of Horace', illuminated by Louise Powell, and Thomas Swindlehurst's 'Three Fifteenth Century Carols', both works which are rarely reproduced in their entirety. A sampler and working notebook of Donald Jackson's was on display, giving a rare insight into how a master scribe uses his scribbles to build a useful sourcebook. The catalogue is introduced by forewords from Wendy Selby, Gerald Fleuss and Donald Jackson.
